- Earrings made with the adjustable-screw-back finding without the copyright mark on the lever are from 1988 and beyond. This example was acquired by us in 2001 from the Napier archive. It can then be assumed this design was made sometime between 1988 and 1999 when the plant was closed.
- Readers Alert These earrings are part of the Napier Crystal Basics Collection of 1992. They feature beautiful Swarovski navettes flanked by brilliant circ-cut stones. Napier marked the earrings in two places—both on the arm of the clip and the back of the clip. The earrings are also conveniently marked with an “L” or “R” to ease questions about proper wearer placement. Not all earrings in the Napier line had left or right markings.
- An unusual design from The Napier Co.’s typical Art Moderne or modernist styles of the 1940s. Herewith is a pair of dainty sterling peacock clip-back earrings. We date these to the late-1940s as the company’s usage of yellow-gold dominated its vermeil pieces. Notice the small clip-back finding. #napierjewelry #napierbook #jewelryhistory #napier1940s #1940svintage #napiersterling
