It features a twisted wire open-metal-work motif accented with faux pearls and a ruby-colored rhinestone for the eye. The piece is actually cast and is a prime example of the amazing modelwork the company produced.

Napier Double Pear Brooch
$69.00This is a great example of the figural fruit pins by Napier. This brooch features a double-pear motif with a hand-textured surface. This series was introduced in 1961 by Napier as “Orchard Treasures.” Slight variations are present on this design because of the hand-manipulated elements.

These brooches came in a number of colors including teal, orange, brick, turquoise, white and “green-stroked.” This was a design of Eugene Bertolli of The Napier Co., Meriden, CT. This design is featured in the book, “The Napier Co.: Defining 20th Century American Costume Jewelry.”

Stylist petals formed from hand-manipulated “spun metal.” Napier did not produce a large collection of rhinestone jewelry. Hence, these pieces are very hard to find. A true treasure.
